Project Zero 5 – First Gameplay Trailer & Screenshots– Wii U Exclusive

The first gameplay trailer for Project Zero 5 has been released or Fatal Frame as it’s called on American shores.  The official name for the latest instalment in Japan is Zero: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden is a Wii U exclusive and it will release September 27th, though there’s no word at this time as to whether it will actually release outside of the Japanese shores.

The trailer see’s lead character Roh Miko exploring a dark and haunting forest, which brings very eerie results.  The gameplay trailer looks every bit as daunting, yet beautiful as you might expect from the long running series and when the game releases, expect to see many spirits with mangled necks, perhaps even a Christina Ricci floating head.

Hopefully word will get out soon as to whether Project Zero 5 will release on other shores, but if you want to get a good Project Zero fix then the first three titles are available to download from the American PSN.  But never fear EU PSN members, because if you create a US PSN account on your PS3 and get hold of some US PSN credit from various online outlets, you can download them directly to your PS3 console.  Just remember it’s called Fatal Frame in North America and not Project Zero.

In related news it seems that a “Hollywood” version of Project Zero/Fatal Frame movie is set to release next year (as seen by the announcement video below) and it will be produced by Samuel Hadida, the man involved with the Resident Evil movie series and Silent Hill Revelation 3D.  A Fatal Frame movie is also set to release in Japan this year and Samuel Hadida has promised to make the movie “better” then the Japanese film.

There are no more details as of yet, but hopefully we’ll know more in the coming months.
