Resident Evil 2 – Fan Made HD Remake
An awesome fan made HD remake of Resident Evil 2 was posted on NeoGAF, showcasing some footage of Leon Kennedy briefly exploring the main hall of the police station. Judging from this footage, it seems to be a mod of some sorts via Resident Evil 4 (though I could be wrong). While I would love to see a Resident Evil 2 remake as much as the next fan, I’m not sure if this is really the root to go.
All credit to the very talented Italian indie developers, but if I was to be honest, if we were to ever get a Resident Evil 2 remake, I’d prefer it to be off a more up to date engine with also the developer and financial backing of Capcom themselves. For me I’d rather see a new Resident Evil 2 game built from the ground up, just imagine how awesome that could be on the PS4 and Xbox One?
I know its wishful thinking, but let’s hope at the very least Capcom take inspiration from this fan made HD remake and give us the Resident Evil title we fans have longed for, whether it is a new story or remade.
