You may remember a fan project from an indie development team called Invader Studios.  They made great work of a Resident Evil 2 remake which played very similar to that of Resident Evil 4 with its over-the-shoulder camera.  Following the official announcement of Resident Evil 2 by Capcom, that project had to be shut down.  However, Capcom did take it upon themselves to invite Invader Studios to the Capcom HQ to get an added insight to games development.

There have been teases since that time that Invader Studios are working on a new project inspired by Resident Evil called Daymare: 1998 and thanks to a post of NeoGAF, we have the latest update.  Not only have we got a six minute gameplay trailer and screenshots (as seen below), but plans have been revealed that the team are planning to launch a Kickstarter campaign in early 2017.

Hopefully, we’ll be able to pledge our support for PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.  Invader Studios has also announced that the section seen in the gameplay trailer below will be playable via a demo.

We’ll keep you posted when we hear more news on the Daymare: 1998 Kickstarter campaign and you can also keep updated by visiting the official website of Invader Studios.
