Update: Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 Nintendo Switch release dates confirmed

Update 07/09/17: Capcom has confirmed that both Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 will release for the Nintendo Switch on November 28th.

Original Story 01/08/17: Capcom has announced the release date for Resident Evil Revelations for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, keeping to traditions of the series releasing on very format known to man.  However, that wasn’t all, because both Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil Revelations 2 will also be making their way to the Nintendo Switch at the end of the year (release date TBC).

So for now, we do know that Resident Evil Revelations will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One on August 29th.  This re-re-released version of the game will come with improved visuals at a 1920×1080 resolution, improved framerate, all previously released DLC, as well as “environmental detail and refined creature movement”.  It will also of course come with its co-op Raid mode and the choice of four control schemes.

Additionally, if you pre-order the game on the PSN Store, you will be gifted with a PS4 dynamic theme (preview trailer seen below).  However, in the description box of the YouTube video, it states that this theme will be available to customers in North America, which I hope not, because I want that theme and at the end of the day, we’re all going to be buying the same game.

On a personal level, I know it’s easy to say that most games would be great on the Switch with its ‘on the go’ capabilities, but playing the first Resident Evil Revelations how it was originally intended with life beginning on the handheld 3DS, I can’t wait to play it that way.

In the meantime, you can check out the Resident Evil Revelations announcement trailer below, along with a batch of new screenshots.  The game will release for PS4 and Xbox One on August 29th, with both games in the series coming to Nintendo Switch “late 2017”.
