Sonic Jump Bounds Onto iOS With A Launch Trailer

Sonic is about to get a lot more vertical, thanks to his new adventure on iOS devices.

In Sonic Jump, instead of getting all the way to the right, Sonic has to get all the way to the top. Akin to popular mobile games such as Doodle Jump, Sonic Jump seeks to add more structure to this type of game, providing a whole array of pre-set levels in the game’s Story Mode, which takes you through new zones and homages of classic ones, climbing ever upwards, and with the inclusion of Red Rings as introduced in Sonic Colours, which are strewn throughout the levels. It also has boss battles with that mainstay meanie Dr Eggman.

There is also an Arcade Mode which is far more akin to the infinite level structure famous in many vertically-scrolling iOS games, where you must simply try to get as high as possible while avoiding spikes and other obstacles, as well as collecting various powerups.

Sonic Jump was released by SEGA on October 18th for £1.49 and is available on the iOS AppStore for iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone.
