Sony Playstation 4 Officially Announced, Trailers & Details
Sony have finally announced the Playstation 4 console during their Sony Meeting last night. If you missed any of the action, head over to our live blog.
The console itself wasn’t revealed and no specifics about its disc format either. However, it will feature an X86 CPU (8 CPU cores), enhanced PC GPU, and 8GB Memory (GDDR5). The console will also have a suspend/resume button for instant play. The controller will feature a touchpad, Share button, headphone jack, light bar to identify players, and a Stereo camera.
Over 70 developers have backed the new developer friendly console. Tech demos were demonstrated by Epic Games (Unreal Engine 4) and Capcom. The new online service will let users use their real names and will be linked to social networks.
Games announced for the console include:
– Knack
– The Witness
– Killzone: Shadowfall
– Drive Club
– inFamous Second Son
– Deep Down [Working Title]
– Final Fantasy
– Watch Dogs
– Diablo III
– Destiny
While the console itself wasn’t shown, the games and interface are enough to get us excited. E3 2013 isn’t too far away, so we’ll be waiting with baited breath until then to see some more of Sony’s next generation system. What did you think of the event? Let us know in the comments.
