Spider-Man PS4 Exclusive Dated for September and Collector’s Edition Announced

 

Finally, the Spider-Man PS4 exclusive from Insomniac Games has been dated and it will be releasing for PlayStation 4 on Friday, September 7^th.  However, that was not all, because alongside the release date announcement was the reveal that the game will be accompanied by an awesome looking Collector’s Edition and various other editions to boot.

That awesome Collector’s Edition, comes with a copy of the game (which is not as rare as you’d like to think nowadays), a Steelbook case, a mini art book from Titan Books (which probably means that they’ll be a proper art book at retail, so keep a lookout for that one), access to post launch DLC (more on that later) and a statue of Spider-Man created by Gentle Giant.  Oh and a sticker, can’t forget the sticker!

You may also notice that in the image of the Collector’s Edition, the base below Spider-Man is covered up with the words “Revealing Summer 2018” which according to the PlayStation Blog post, is covering up a spoiler.  The Collector’s Edition is exclusive to Game in the UK (which likely means its £10 more than it should be) priced at £129.99 and you can also pick it up from GameStop in the US for $149.99.

The Collector’s Edition includes:

• Spider-Man PS4 Game
• Custom Steelbook
• White Spider Sticker
• Mini Art book (Titan)
• Marvel’s Spider-Man Statue (Gentle Giant)
• City Never Sleeps Post Launch DLC
• White Spider Sticker

There will also be a Special Edition of Spider-Man priced at £59.99, which from what I can tell is a European exclusive, which includes the following content (which its contents are also found in the Collector’s Edition):

• Spider-Man PS4 Game
• Custom Steelbook
• White Spider Sticker
• Mini Art book

As in most cases, there is also a Digital Deluxe Edition to download via the PSN Store if you should choose, which comes with the City Never Sleeps Post Launch DLC.  The Digital Deluxe Edition has a launch price of £64.99 on the UK PSN Store and $79.99 over in the US.  However, unlike the Digital Deluxe Edition in all other regions, those in the US and Canada will be gifted with a limited edition collectible pin (as seen via the image below).

The City Never Sleeps Post Launch DLC that comes with the Collector’s and Digital Deluxe Edition includes three new chapters featuring new missions for the campaign, as well as new villains, characters and addition suits for Spider-Man.  Insomniac Games promises to reveal more details about the post launch content at a later date, which I would assume will be during the Summer alongside what is featured below Spider-Man in that Collector’s Edition statue.

Finally, regardless of what edition you pre-order, whether it be the Collector’s Edition, Special Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition or the standard edition, you will receive Pre-Order Bonus DLC, which includes the following content:

• Spidey Suit Pack – Gain instant in-game access to three suits that alter your appearance, as well as your attributes.
• 5 Extra Skill Points – Get a head start on your web slinging experience by having skill points to unlock abilities from the start of the game like active finishers, web grab or faster web swinging.
• Early Unlock of a Spider-Drone Gadget. Unleash a mobile Spider-Drone to distract and web your enemies.
• Spider-Man PS4 Custom Theme – Customise your PS4 with artwork from legendary comic book artist Adi Granov.
• Spider-Man PSN Avatar – Represent your PSN profile online with the bold White Spider Icon.

So there you have it, Spider-Man will release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 from September 7^th and speaking of exclusive, unlike some recent alleged PS4 exclusives, Spider-Man is totally exclusive to PS4 as confirmed by Insomniac Games themselves via this tweet response below.
