SteamWorld Heist Announced, Release Next Spring

The ever popular indie developer Image & Form have announced the latest game in their SteamWorld Dig franchise, entitled, SteamWorld Heist. CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson says it’ll “be full of surprises and probably the best game ever”, so let’s take his word for it.

SteamWorld Heist takes place in the SteamWorld Dig universe, but is not a direct sequel, as the developer has previously stated that they wish to do something different before heading into a sequel. SteamWorld Heist definitely seem like something different, with focus on turn0based combat instead of mining dirt.

You venture into space with a team of robots to scavenge and collect the leftovers of a “destroyed world”. After being forced into space, water has become a well-desired resource, and so robots will do anything to get their hands on some to continue powering their steam spaceships.

No price nor platforms have been announced for SteamWorld Heist yet, but I certainly cannot wait to here more about the game after the amazing SteamWorld Dig.
