Team-Based Resident Evil Game Gets #TGS2019 Teaser Trailer #ProjectResistance

Last week Capcom teased the announcement for Project Resistance, a new Resident Evil game that would be officially revealed at the Tokyo Game Show this week, then within hours images from an un-released trailer were leaked, indicating that the game would be a co-op shooter.

Well now Capcom has officially revealed the teaser trailer and while it features no gameplay, it does give us quite the insight as to what to expect.  For starters it will be a team-based multiplayer shooter and it seems that one team will take control of four teenage characters, while a solo player may assume the role of the bad guys.

We see the teens fighting off hordes of zombies and some Lickers to boot, and then at the very end of the trailer it looks like the person taking control of the infected, also has control of Mr X, the updated Tyrant that we saw in the brilliant Resident Evil 2 remake.

Capcom has promised to reveal further details as well as gameplay later this week on Thursday, September 12th at 2am BST/5pm PDT/1am UTC.  On that day we should learn of not only its proper name, but more about the playable human characters, as well as what infected we’ll be in control of, as well as a release date.

Will this carry an Outbreak name or will it be something entirely different?  We’ll soon see.  However, while I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, I’m a little disappointed that we haven’t got a Resident Evil 8 announcement or even something related to a Resident Evil 3: Nemesis remake.  But there’s still time for more surprise announcements at the Tokyo Game Show this week and we’ll keep you posted as always.
