The Keeper’s Diary: A Biohazard Story is a Resident Evil movie you can bring to life
I think it’s fair to say that fans of Resident Evil haven’t had it good when it comes to live-action adaptations, though the animated adaptations do fare much better.
From the inconsistent Paul W.S. Anderson movies to the recent Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City and the woeful Netflix series, it’s understandable if you were suffering from Ark Thompson-inspired amnesia.
Thankfully however, it seems that fans of the Resident Evil franchise have it covered in the hope of bringing to life the live-action movie adaptation that we have longed for with The Keepers Diary: A Biohazard Story.
I know we’ve heard it before how apparent fans of the series want to give us a faithful adaptation, but what we actually get is fair from that promise. However, this crowd-funded short movie inspired by Resident Evil (1996) and the 2001 remake looks to correct a lot of wrongs.
The Keepers Diary: A Biohazard Story will be directed and produced by Andrew Saullo, an award-winning Full Sail University grad and lifelong Resident Evil fan who is no stranger to fan projects inspired by Capcom’s survival horror franchise. What’s more, Saullo will also be supported by two popular content creators of the Resident Evil community with Andy Cox, founder of Biohazard Declassified and J.J. Trulock, founder of Residence of Evil as producer and associate producer, respectively. So you know that this project is in good hands.
Furthermore, Charlie Kraslavsky will play the leading role of ‘The Keeper’. Oh, and Kraslavsky just so happens to be the OG Chris Redfield actor from 1996. Kraslavsky will also be joined by Ward Sexton, one of the most iconic voices in this franchise, whose voice you would have heard countless times on the Resident Evil title screen. More actors/actresses will be announced at a later date.
The Keeper’s Diary: A Biohazard Story will be aired free on the Residence of Evil YouTube channel intended to launch somewhere between Q4 2023 to Q1 2024. Full production is intended to start anytime from October.
