The Playstation Network has showcased some truly unique gaming experiences recently with titles such as Journey proving that gaming conventions really should be both broken and experimented with. Due for release on the 8th May, Datura is another unique title to keep an eye on – set in a forest of lush visuals and unique interactions.

I’m always on the lookout for the next quirky digital release, and this time it’s come in the form of The Unfinished Swan. While it’s certainly been around for some time (here’s a video I saw back in 2008), the title is now heading exclusively to the Playstation 3, and will be available later this year via download.

The Unfinished Swan is all about exploring the unknown, providing an interesting medium for the gamer to interact with the environment, complete with optional Move support.

The player is a young boy chasing after a swan who has wandered off into a surreal, unfinished kingdom. The game begins in a completely white space where players can throw paint to splatter their surroundings and reveal the world around them.

Lookout for The Unfinished Swan later this year, exclusively via download on the Playstation 3. Keep an eye on the official Blog of Giant Sparrow for updates on development.
