Tokyo Game Show: Sony Announces New Vita Hardware Revision
Sony today announced their plans to release a hardware revision for the PlayStation Vita which will be released next month.
The new model will be 20% thinner, 15% lighter, include 1GB of built-in memory, and provide an additional hour of battery life– which brings it to 6 hours of use. Sony have clanged the screen from OLED to a 5 inch LCD screen.
The new model (PCH-2000) will launch in six colours: Black, White, Lime green/White, Light blue/White, Pink/Black and Khaki/Black. Sony Will be dropping its proprietary PS Vita charger, moving to the more common micro-USB type. Sony are also dropping the price of all the memory cards and introducing a 64GB memory card priced at 9,980 yen which is roughly £65.
The PlayStation Vita PCH-2000 model will be release October 10th and costing 19.929 yen including tax which is roughly around £130 . No western release has been announced as of yet.
