We love them, superhero movies are what dreams are made of. They make us want to be the heroes. So we had a look at the top 5 superhero movies.

5.Spider-man

Released May 3rd 2002 the film was the 23rd highest grossing film of all time. It covered the original Spiderman story with the exception of the final scene in which Mary-Jane (Kirsten Dunst) was captured by the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe) and had to be saved by the web-head (Toby Mcguire). A great film by all accounts that shook the superhero movie world.

4. Iron Man

Robert Downey Jr. jumped into the suit to stop some terrorists in 2008. The film was a massive success and Downey Jr. fit the role of Tony Stark perfectly. With Gweneth Paltro in the first film and Scarlett Johanson in the second, the film tried to sell the sex appeal along with humour and awesome action.

3. Sky High

Disney set out with their own superhero movie. It was never widely publicised yet was a great movie. It revolved around Will Stronghold, the son of famous superhero’s The Commander and Jetstream. When he learns he will be attending Sky High, a high school for superhero’s he does nothing but worry. Will’s powers have not come through so he is stuck in sidekick class as opposed to hero class. It’s your basic teen superhero movie that included action and humour. With great music from Bowling For Soup it was a great movie.

2. The Dark Knight

2007 was the year of Batman. Christian Bale returned as The Dark Knight and did so with style. Facing off against the maniacle genius The Joker (the late Heath Ledger) Batman needed every available resource at his disposal to defeat him. How do you defeat someone always several steps ahead of you? Oscar winning and setting the benchmark for all superhero movies this movie was amazing.

1.Kick-Ass

Released 2010 this movie was British produced and ROCKED. It offered something so different to your regular superhero movie. It was believable! The film centres around a group of people becoming superhero’s without powers. They plot, they scheme and they KICK-ASS. Starring Aaron Johnson the film made superhero history. Totally my favourite film of all time.

In that sense I would agree with you Magneto. But still in my heart I would look at them as superheros 😛
Yeah Christian I know this bit took me ages to think about. Because I loved Kick-Ass it's actually my favourite film of all time, but then Dark Knight was EPIC!

I forgot about Sky High. Like the idea of that movie a lot. Kick Ass better then the Dark Knight?!

Dunno about that, and Magneto is right. Still a nice list though.

A superhero is by definition is a hero with super human powers. A vigilante is a citizens who take upon themselves the protection of their district, properties, etc.

Most people on your list use technology or normal weapons to fight crime not super human powers. Thus they are vigilantes.

Whom would you define as which? As I see 5 superheros by definition of someone that fights injustice in a cool outfit 😀
