‘Almost’ all of the gang is back in Resident Evil: Death Island

Almost all of the gang is back together in the upcoming CGI animated movie, Resident Evil: Death Island  and we have a brand new trailer!

Chris and Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy, and Rebecca Chambers will be joining forces to fight the evils of this world, and of course zombies. Thanks Will from Resident Evil Central.

However, fans have been asking “Barry? Where’s Barry?” Sadly there was no sign of everyone’s favourite one-liner legend of the S.T.A.R.S Alpha team. Perhaps he might show up at the last minute to whisk his fellow heroes off in a chopper? Only time will tell.

What’s more, Resident Evil: Death Island will be the first time that at least in terms of the official canon, Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine will be sharing the screen together. At this time, we do not know who the villain(s) of the movie will be.

Resident Evil: Death Island will be R-Rated and is a direct sequel to Resident Evil: Vendetta (2017) and is directed by Eiichiro Hasumi from a screenplay by Makoto Fukami. In terms of story, Leon is sent on a rescue mission to retrieve Dr Antonio Taylor, before a mysterious woman throws a spanner into the works. This mysterious woman is likely to be Maria Gomez from Vendetta, unless…?

Elsewhere, Chris Redfield, an agent of B.S.A.A is investigating a zombie outbreak which leads him to the infamous Alcatraz Island in San Francisco. However, if blood-thirsty zombies weren’t enough to contend with, a new threat to the world has been discovered. You can check out the new trailer below, which has some series Marvel’s Avengers vibes.

At this time, Resident Evil: Death Island has a release date of 7 July in Japan. While there is no word on the international release date, hopefully, it will be thereabouts.
