Sparking intrigue for sci-fi fans everywhere, Ridley Scott told The Independent that there might be a spot for Harrison Ford in the upcoming sequel to Blade Runner. Whilst it has been suggested that Ford would not be appearing in the project, Scott said:

“I don’t think it’ll be Harry [starring]. But I’ve got to have him in it somewhere. That’d be amusing.”

Whilst it seems highly unlikely that Ford will return, there has not been a definitive “no” as of yet which could mean that Deckard could still have a small part to play in the sequel. Including some reference to the iconic character Deckard would be a really interesting addition to this sequel, and hopefully Scott can carry it off well, since some sequels or ‘spiritual successors’ of iconic films include some cringing cameos (such as The Wicker Tree’s Christopher Lee – shoved into a tiny, pointless role due to unfortunate injuries).
