Dead Rising Movie On Its Way?

According to reports at Variety, a full-length Dead Rising movie is in the works and it will debut on Sony’s Crackle service.  The movie which will initially be released in digital form is being produced by Legendary Pictures, which were the company involved in the Barman Dark Knight series and more.

Unfortunately at this time, Sony’s Crackle service is only available in North America, with the service closing down in the UK on April 1^st.  The Dead Rising movie will then be distributed globally by Content Media at a later date, Content Media previously distributed Halo: Forward Until Dawn.  With the global release, the movie is expected to arrive on Video On Demand, DVD (hopefully Blu-Ray too) and TV.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformer series) is expected to produce the Dead Rising movie by taking up the role as executive producer and Tim Carter will join the writing staff, who wrote the popular web-series Mortal Kombat: Legacy.

From what I can tell at this time there is no word as to what kind of movie genre this will be, I’m hoping that it will be a quality CGI or Anime movie, rather than live-action.  We’ll keep you updated as to when this news develops in the coming weeks/months, but in the mean time checkout our review of Dead Rising 3 HERE.
