A Death Stranding movie has been announced and it will be co-produced by Hideo Kojima. Happy days!

The Death Stranding movie will be in production by Kojima Productions as well as Hammerstone Studios. Kojima-san will co-producer alongside Alex Lebovici (Bill & Ted Face the Music) as well as Allan Ungar (Uncharted: Live Action Fan Film).

I couldn’t be more excited about this new partnership with Hammerstone Studios,” said Hideo Kojima. “This is a pivotal moment for the franchise and I’m really looking forward to collaborating with them in bringing Death Stranding to the big screen.

In an exclusive report by Deadline, the adaptation will feature a new story and characters, meaning it’s unlikely to star Norman Reedus as Sam Porter Bridges. However, while the story is being kept under-wrapped at this time, it is believed that the production is being fast-tracked. So hopefully, we’ll know additional details in the coming months.

In related news, Death Stranding 2 was revealed at The Game Awards 2022 with a stunning announcement trailer.

In my review of the original Death Stranding, I said: “You may very well find that you hate it, but if not, this could very well be your Game of the Year, and with a game as “connected”  and polarising as Death Stranding, it will no doubt keep us talking, theorising and speculating for years to come, and that is truly something spectacular.
