The trailer for Quentino Tarantino’s upcoming Western Django Unchained has finally arrived, and it looks fantastic. Filled with Tarantino’s usual criteria – the grindhouse feel, brilliant soundtrack and top actors with unbeatable one-liners such as Samuel L. JacksonDjango Unchained revives the character Django from the spaghetti westerns of the 1960s (a genre beloved by Tarantino, who ranks 1966 Sergio Leone classic The Good, the Bad and the Ugly amongst his favourite films of all time) and follows Dr King Schultz, played by Christoph Waltz (a German dentist turned bounty hunter) who is searching for the villainous Brittle brothers. He rescues the slave Django (portrayed by Jamie Foxx) from a chain gang, knowing that Django can lead him to his bounty. Schultz promises Django not only his freedom but also the promise that he will help him rescue his wife Broomhilda (played by Kerry Washington) if Django will comply. The two become partners and set out on their mission, which is filled with obstacles (such as Leonardo DiCaprio’s charming but cruel Francophile plantation owner Calvin Candie).

Django Unchained releases Christmas Day in the US, and January 18th 2013 in the UK.
