Finally, An Elysium Trailer. Promises To Be Huge.

With a late summer release penned, Neill Blomkamp’s long-awaited follow-up to 2009’s Best Picture-nominated District 9 has finally been revealed by way of one of the most impressive trailers in recent memory.

Starring Matt Damon, Jodie Foster and Sharlto Copley, Elysium, much like District 9, looks to concentrate on social issues such as class segregation and privilege whilst retaining all of the fascinating sci-fi elements that made Blomkamp’s debut so impressive in the first place. The main difference being, Elysium has a huge budget and an A-list cast.

Visual similarities between the two films are immediately evident, and that is no insult. Judging by the two and a half minutes seen here, Elysium looks undeniably gorgeous as it blends space-station utopia with scorched earth effortlessly.
