Hammer had previously revealed that they were planning a sequel to the highly successful The Woman in Black, which was hailed as the most successful British horror film of the last 20 years and starred Daniel Radcliffe in the leading role.  Jon Broker, who was The Woman in Black’s story editor, has been recruited again for the sequel, whose working title is The Woman in Black: Angels of Death and which will be set 40 years after events in the first film.

As reported by Shock Til You Drop, the plot is as follows:

Seized by the government and converted into a military mental hospital during World War II, the sudden arrival of disturbed soldiers to Eel Marsh Harsh has awoken its darkest inhabitant.  Eve, a beautiful young nurse, is sent to the house to care for the patients but soon realizes she must save them from more than their own demons.  Despite Eve’s efforts to stop her, one by one they fall victim to the Woman in Black.

More in-depth details have not yet been released as the project is still in early development stages, although it will be produced by the same production team as the original. It certainly will be interesting to see whether it can live up to the phenomenal worldwide success of its predecessor.
