Earlier today, it was reported that Idris Elba, who will be seen next summer in Kenneth Branagh’s Thor, has a multi-picture deal with Marvel that suggests we will see him again in another superhero film. The story raised the issue of playing two characters in the same superhero universe. And those who know me well, understand my loathing of one actor playing two marvel characters, including Ryan Reynolds, who first played Hannibal King in Blade Trinity and later playing Wade/Deadpool in Xmen Origins : Wolverine. Also I was particularly annoyed by the awful casting, that was given to the man who ruined the human torch. Chris Evans was given the role of Captain America.

Whether it’s a misguided attempt to cancel them out, however, he’s now adding a third comic book movie.  There have been reports that Elba and Johnny Whitworth are currently in negotiations to star in Ghost Rider 2: The Spirit of Vengeance for Columbia Pictures. In the film, Nicholas Cage returns as Johnny Blaze and has gone into hiding in Eastern Europe, but is found and hired by a sect to take down the devil.

Looking forward to hearing more about Ghost Rider 2 and the other future Marvel films to come.
