Is ‘The Hangover 3’ already in the pipelines?

According to Zach Galifianakis it is! Talking to magazine, Rolling Stone this month, the star of the hit movie franchise revealed that there is already a script underway, and his phone has not stopped ringing about the deal.  Whilst a full script may not have been completed for a third film, Galifianakis revealed that there has been a basic storyline put in place, involving his character Alan being rescued from a mental institution by his “woolfpack” – Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Doug (Jason Bartha).

Following the less-than-positive reviews from ‘The Hangover 2’ perhaps director Todd Phillips should have gone with this storyline as the first sequel. Whilst some may be sceptical of comic Galifianakis’ claims of a third film, Phillips too has spoken out, confirming that the third instalment shall be vastly different from the first two – one would hope so; seriously, how many times can you show the same guys wake up so hung-over they don’t remember  where they put one of their friends? However, whilst the general consensus of ‘The Hangover 2’ was a little negative – it was afterall, pretty much a carbon copy of ‘The Hangover’ just in a different location – , it did manage to break box-office records by grossing over $135million in it’s opening week. And, I for one found it had been brilliantly written, with some outstanding laugh-out-loud moments. So if there really will be a third instalment, I can’t deny that I won’t be excited.
