Kaitlyn Dever announced as Abby in The Last of Us season 2

Finally following months of rumours and speculation, Kaitlyn Dever has been cast as Abby in the live-action adaptation of HBO’s The Last of Us in season two.

Reports of Kaitlyn Dever being cast as Abby from The Last of Us Part II began making the rounds in late 2023, but now she has been officially confirmed. Dever certainly has the look of a young Abby, though she does appear to be smaller in stature compared to her video game counterpart. So it will be interesting to see if she packs a little muscle for the role.

That being said, anyone who has watched the movie No One Will Save You or the TV series Dopesick and Unbelievable will know that Kaitlyn Dever will knock this role out of the part and I believe she is an excellent casting choice.

No release date has been announced for the second season of The Last of Us, but it is expected to premiere between late 2024 to early 2025.
