Man of Steel New Trailer Arrives, Proves to Be THE Movie of the Summer
After all the teases, virals and short glimpses that have slowly been revealed over the last month, it’s finally here: a full Man of Steel trailer that shows off the fantastic effects and style that director Zack Snyder is known for in his comic book adaptations, as well as the drama and emotion that producer Christopher Nolan brought to his Dark Knight trilogy. Judging from the trailer, it’s a match made in heaven – from the opening shots of a giant space battle paired with piano music (now a given cliché in many video game trailers, but there’s definitely no denying its awesomeness) to Clark’s journey of self discovery (taking a note from Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins as he travels like a ghost from place to place, his beard getting stragglier by the minute) to the absolutely incredible looking flight and battle sequences with Superman himself.
There are also more glimpses at iconic comic characters Lois Lane (Amy Adams), General Zod (Michael Shannon) and Jor-El (Russell Crowe), which will certainly whet fanboys’ appetites.
Iron Man 3 is due for release very soon, and whilst Marvel certainly dominated the box office last year it pales in comparison to the hype building up for this epic Superman reboot. Hopefully despite his lacklustre performance in The Cold Light of Day Henry Cavill can bring new life to Clark Kent, becoming more than just the bland do-gooder in silly tights, just as Michael Keaton and Christian Bale did for Bruce Wayne before him.
This is going to be the movie of the summer.
