Mortal Kombat – New Digital Live-Action Series Announced

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that a new live-action Mortal Kombat digital series is on its way and they will be teaming up with Blue Ribbon Content, who will be in charge of developing and producing the series.  Not much is known at this time in regards to the digital series; other then it will feature the series most recognisable characters and those that are new to the series which are being introduced into Mortal Kombat X.

London, UK. (October 23, 2014) — Warner Bros. announced today the name of its newly formed shortform series production unit and also unveiled its first slate of development projects — which includes a new, untitled Mortal Kombat series. Blue Ribbon Content is the name of the recently created division, which is charged with developing and producing live-action series for digital platforms, tapping the creative talent already working at the Studio while also identifying opportunities for collaboration with new writers and producers.

For Mortal Kombat fans, that means some good news — the next generation of the franchise is coming!  In association with the upcoming Mortal Kombat X video game releasing April 14, 2015, Blue Ribbon Content and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are teaming up on an all-new live-action series that showcases some of the franchise’s most storied characters, while introducing a new generation of fighters.
