It has been reported by Deadline that the Resident Evil movie reboot will launch on September 3rd, 2021, which falls on the US Labor Day weekend.

The Resident Evil movie reboot which wrapped up production late December previously had a tentative release date of September 9th, so it’s nice to get the movie a little earlier than expected.

The movie will be an origins story for Resident Evil beginning in Raccoon City in 1998.  We’ll see the chaos unfold in the Spencer Mansion located in Arklay Mountains as well as all the mayhem in the city.

The reboot will be directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, The Strangers: Prey at Night) and according to Constantin Film website.

The cast of the Resident Evil movie reboot includes Kaya Scodelario (Claire Redfield), Robbie Amell (Chris Redfield), Hannah John-Kamen (Jill Valentine), Tom Hopper (Albert Wesker), Aven Jogia (Leon S. Kennedy), Neal McDonough (William Birkin) and Donal Logue (Chief Brian Irons).

Hopefully by September the current global pandemic might be under some form of control, because I’d love to watch this Resident Evil movie at the cinema.
