Sony Sign Director for Film Adaptation of Shadow of the Collosus

Sony Pictures has signed producer Kevin Misher and Chronicle director Josh Trank on to develop a live-action feature-film version of the bestselling Sony videogame Shadow of the Colossus, Deadline reports. Whilst game-to-film adaptations don’t always get the best big-screen treatment, Trank has been a fan of the popular game since its 2005 launch, which will hopefully bring a faithful film version. The original game, developed by Team Ico, follows Wander – a young man who makes a pact with a demon to slay 16 ‘Colossi’ monsters in return for reviving a girl, Mono. Trank is also developing two Fantastic Four related projects for Fox, and Venom – spin-off to The Amazing Spider-Man – for Sony.
