Disney’s new CGI take on the 1812 Brothers Grimm classic Rapunzel, Tangled, has knocked Harry Potter 7 – part 1 off it’s top spot in only the second week of release. Starring Mandy Moore (A Walk To Remember 2002) and Zachary Levi, from the TV series Chuck, this new spin follows Rapunzel as she busts out of her tower and goes on a daring adventure with rugged man of the world Flynn Rider, in order to see the famous annual floating lanterns at the kingdoms palace. Featuring such stars as Ron Perlman (Hellboy),  Bradd Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond) and Jeffrey Tambor (There’s Something About Mary) it’s no wonder this fun-loving family flick was such a success. It has been reported that Tangled has bagged $21.5m in its second weekend, and is said to have soared past Deathly Hallows which has fallen 66% in popularity, coming in second place in this weeks box office ratings.

Third and fourth place are doing well with $6.1m – Cher and Christina Aguilera’s all singing, all dancing hit Burlesque and the new edge of your seat drama Unstoppable.

Finally our top 5 is completed by Love and Other Drugs starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, bringing in $5.7m.

Sixth this week is Megamind ($5m), down from third place but still just above the climbing comedy Due Date ($4.2m) which is in at seventh.

Faster ($3.8m) and a new entry Warrior’s Way ($3m) are sitting at eighth and ninth with The Next Three Days – Russell Crowe’s new one in at tenth with $2.6m, having dropped a place.

Next week the eagerly anticipated The Tourist starring Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp is set to hit the box office, but where will this super star new comer end up?
