Mads Mikkelson and Ashley Hamilton could be two of the newest villains to enter the Marvel movie-sphere, if negotiations go according to plan.

Mikkellson is currently locked in talks with Marvel about being being another thorn in Thor’s side, along with the returning Tom Hiddlestone (Loki), though it isn’t known at this stage which character they have in mind for him. The Executioner has been mooted as a possibility, though throughout Thor’s chronology he has had several opponents in battle, so it’s not like they’ll be stuck for choice. Also, the vast majority of the cast from the first film are slotted to return for the sequel.

Meanwhile over at Stark Industries, heads could be about to roll as they bid to fend off “Project Firepower.” Ashley Hamilton is in talks to star as James Taggart, aka Firepower, to become Iron Man 3’s leading baddie. Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle are all back on board in addition to welcoming some newcomers to the franchise such as Guy Pearce. Shooting has already begun in North Carolina.

In addition, Jon Favreau will return to the set reprising his Happy Hogan role. Shane Black has taken over the directorial reigns after Favreau had directed the first two films. Favreau was already on board for the third film as an executive producer.
