The teaser trailer for Tom Hooper’s adaptation of the stage musical version of the classic French epic, Les Misérables. The director of Oscar-sweeper The King’s Speech leads a star-studded cast, including Hugh Jackman as ex-convict Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as the obsessive Javert, Anne Hathaway as the tragic Fantine, Amanda Seyfried as the beautiful Cosette and Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter as the wicked but hilarious Thénardiers. In the trailer, Anne Hathaway gives a beautifully raw, emotional rendition of the iconic song ‘I Dreamed a Dream’, offering great promise for this upcoming film. A real treat of the upcoming film should be ‘Master of the House’, which would be performed perfectly by Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter as they are no strangers to musicals or comedic performances.
