So after a long and tiresome week a few of the Push-Start team went all the way to London for the EuroGamer Expo 2012! Today I am going to take you through my eyes and tell you what I thought of the games presented and what we can expect to see from now till this time next year. For people unfamiliar with this, the EuroGamer Expo is a large convention that focuses heavily on the ins and outs of video gaming in the world and what they bring to us in the UK every year. There are literally hundreds of companies involved including big names such as Microsoft, Game, Sony, EA, Nintendo and many many more, with these names on the list you know there’s going to be a hell of a show in some respect. Not only do they showcase the games but the developers themselves take time out to take questions and present us with their products and a good background into how they reached the game that they have. These talks came in very useful to game developers, journalists and students alike as people fired questions from the conference floor.

Now I shall take you through what I managed to see and give as much information as possible letting you know what is around the corner, first. I feel that in brief the best games I played at the sessions were Assassin’s Creed III, Crysis 3, DmC: Devil May Cry, Sim City & finally, Tomb Raider. All the games were good, however these stood above the crop and Nintendo Land was literally just behind them. What I will say with all the developer sessions and people I spoke to and things that I saw you can be certain that we are in for a really really exciting period here in gaming. I will be going into much more detail with what I saw in separate “First Thought Posts, EuroGamer 2012”. However, I saw games step up a notch graphically to something nicer and much more real. Action games became more intense. Shooters became more intricate and with that difficult. Nintendo became much more valid in the market for hardcore gamers in my opinion. 80% of the titles that are coming out next year shown to me at the expo are worth playing or completing 100%. Game developers have kicked it up a bunch since last year knowing their on the edge of this generation of consoles and will soon have a new playground to work in. Real life simulators, well Sim City has added something amazingly complex and yet easy to use to the gaming industry and other games are going to follow. Plus much much more, so if you want to find out the full low down on EuroGamer 2012 from the eye of the Quill Guy. Keep checking back for new posts and updates here on Push-Start, first.
