“Games for Good” is a dedicated effort by James Partnow to raise awareness about how games have changed these days, and are not what news outlets call, “Murder Simulators”. With the money he raises, James hopes to speak with grant organizations around the world  from Washington, and plans to sponsor a Game Jam where the creative people will be given the stage and means to create something meaningful, further strengthening the image of games.

As we all know, a lot of unfortunate incidents have caused games to go under the hammer, damaging not only their, but the entire industries reputation. Furthermore, a lot of News outlets see games as nothing more then glorified means of provoking violence, even though most who speak of them do not play games themselves. It is a very slippery slope at the moment, seeing how people are getting the wrong message about games, promoting some to even collect and burn violent games. So, it is a nice change of pace to see that someone wants to do something about it and wants to get every gamer involved.

Even though most can’t go on the TV or find an outlet to address their concerns, they can definitely lend a helping hand by donating to his cause over at RockethubIn fact, depending on the amount you deposit, you can even grab free games such as, EUROPA UNIVERSALIS CHRONICLES or CRUSADER KINGS III personally hope that this project will be a success and the concerned parties will come to see that games are just as helpful, as they are engaging to some.
