A Long Road To Final Fantasy VII Remake?

The creative minds up at SQUARE ENIX have had to wade through vast emails and letters about a Final Fantasy VII remake for over 10 years. So after all this time… is there a possibility?

SQUARE ENIX president Yoichi Wada said, “we are often asked about a Final Fantasy VII remake”. “It took Square Enix between three and four years to get recently released Final Fantasy XIII to a high level of quality.” “To get FFVII to something like FFXII, it would take ten times as long”.

Wada also adds that because it would take such long time, the circumstances for a remake are very difficult.

Other big names have also had their say in the idea, such as director of the massively popular Final Fantasy XIII Motomu Toriyama who wants to have a go at remaking VII but FFVII character designer Tetsuya Nomura doesn’t expect anything to happen for quite some time.

Despite the slow development of the idea, the possibility for a remake is something Square Enix have had on their minds for quite some time. Because of this, all of us at Push-Start hope to see the game in action sometime in the future.
