Many fans have been speculating about what is in store for Star Wars games since Disney disbanded LucasArts earlier this year. Lucky for them, some of their questions may be answered at E3 2013. EA is the video game giant that won the exclusive rights for designing Star Wars games, and already they have previews of what is in store for the Star Wars franchise. What will be surprising, is who will be present, and who won’t be.

Unfortunately for fans of Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR), there will be no BioWare booth nor game announcements at E3 . Community manager Eric Musco said the following in an announcement on SWTOR’s official forums:

Hey folks,

Just to head off any crazy expectations, SWTOR will not be on the floor of E3 so I wouldn’t expect any big announcements from us. That being said, don’t forget that we are having a meet and greet as a part of the Cantina Tour! You can find that info here. You can always look forward to cool little tidbits of information from our Cantina events though. Just don’t expect anything big since we wont have a presence directly at E3.

That being said, I really do love speculation threads so carry on.

This is an odd turn of events for the fans, as well as popular SWTOR news sites such as SWTOR Strategies, because EA/BioWare laid out plans for the game at last year’s E3. All is not lost for Star Wars this year though, as some games will make surprising appearances.

One of those games is Star Wars 1313. After the fall of LucasArts, many feared that Star Wars 1313 fell along with it. Now, however, rumours are circulating that EA plans to announce at E3 that the 1313 is not dead but maybe resurrected via one of their three smaller companies that have been tasked with creating Star Wars games. There is also a small hope that Battlefront 3 (BF3) is another title destined to be resurrected at EA’s Press Conference, since the list about their announcements that was leaked for their appeared to be incomplete.

This would appear to be good news for fans who were looking forward to the long awaited Battlefront 3 and Star Wars 1313. What else EA plans to announce remains to be seen at their press conference.
