Batman 3! And Superman!

Yep, you did read that correctly. It seems the sequel to The Dark Knight is starting.

Last year, in November, Michael Caine worried the heck out of all Batfans when he said a sequel is unlikely or, if it was, it wouldn’t be for a while. However, sources have revealed that Christopher Nolan has started on a script after a year of uncertainty. Most likely, his summer thriller, Inception, spurred Warner Bros. to get Batman 3 in motion.

Rumours have now started spreading about who’s to be the villain in the next installment, the majority of opinion leaning towards “The Riddler”. Mixed with Nolan’s love for a complex and contrived storyline, it’s easy to see how intricate next superhero blockbuster will be.

Nolan, who’s directing the possible film and working on the script says it hasn’t been greenlit yet, but it’s only a matter of time.

Outside of Batman, the suddenly famous director is looking for a director for a new Superman movie. Essentially rebooting the reboot is David Goyer, who’s written the script. Meanwhile, possible candidates for directing include Tony Scott, Matt Reeves and Zack Snyder.

Hopefully Nolan won’t keep us waiting for too long.
