Update: Earlier today we reported a story following an achievement list leak that indicated that some sort of GTA: San Andreas re-master was on the cards, well it has now been officially confirmed and it is on its way, as confirmed on Rockstar.com.  It appears at this time that it’s only releasing for the Xbox 360 and it will be arriving October 26th (Sunday).  It’s not quite the re-master that many had hoped.  It will have 720p visuals and improved draw distances, as well as obviously achievement support.  But there’s no sign of re-worked visuals that some HD re-makes receive, nor are there signs of improved audio.

However there is a slight snag for those that own the original Games on Demand version, as your save file will not transfer over, so you will have to buy and start the game from scratch.  The original Games of Demand version will be removed from the service and replaced with the new version.  Though those that own the original version, will be able to access the download from their download history.  If we hear any news in regards to a PS3 version, we’ll update you here again.

Original Story:  Courtesy of xboxachievements.com, they have gotten hold of an achievement list for GTA: San Andreas.  The achievements range from working out in a gym, completing various side-missions, there’s even one for drowning and more.

Now I know that GTA: San Andreas has been available on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 is a classic game for sometime, but like other games in that range, they do not come with achievements or trophies, nor do they have improved visuals or audio.  So with this achievement list making its appearance, it does give a strong indication that a re-mastered version of the game is perhaps on the way.  Hopefully it will come with re-mastered HD visuals and sound quality.

If this remastered version of GTA does happen, I’ve always liked the idea of a re-mastered HD collection that includes GTA: San Andreas, as well as GTA III and GTA: Vice City.

You can check out the achievement list courtesy of xboxachievements.com for yourself below, and as and when we hear any updates on this subject, we’ll update you right away.
