NeoGAF-rumours2

Last night NeoGAF exploded with a rumour grenade, with stories of a Halo 5 being pushed to 2015 and a beta that will be included in copies of a Halo 2 Anniversary Edition allegedly set for release on the Xbox One, you can check out the details HERE.  Among all these rumours were whispers of a new Xbox One consoles, Quantum Break, a Forza Horizon sequel and much more.  Now there’s a lot to get through, so I’ll list all the NeoGAF rumours here and you can make of them what you will.

Below is the list of rumours that were posted on NeoGAF just last night:

  • Halo 5 will be pushed back to 2015.  Back in the beginning of January, the Senior PR Manager of the Halo and Forza franchises tweeted that Halo 5 will release this year, he said “Rest assured your next Halo journey WILL begin in 2014. #staycalm” So if this delay is to be true, it’s a little disappointing, but with the rumour of a Halo 2: Anniversary being released this year for the Xbox One with a Halo 5 beta, it might help to tide us over.
  • Forza Horizon 2 will release at the end of this year, which apparently will allow you to explore the huge open world with a friend and will have a whole host of social functionalities.  By the sounds of it, it may be similar to the PS4 exclusive title Driveclub.  But with both games yet to be released, it will be interesting to see which of these two titles will come out on top.
  • Gears of War will apparently have a development time of 2 and half years, and is also only a week into its development at the moment.  Just this week it was confirmed that Microsoft have acquired the publishing rights from Epic Games, and the Gears of War Xbox One instalment will be developed by Black Tusk Studios.
  • Quantum Break will release towards the end of this year.  Quantum Break is developed by the team that gave us Alan Wake; Remedy Entertainment and will be a game that will work in conjunction with a TV series.  So being a fan of the development studio, this could be one of the Xbox One’s most intriguing exclusives.
  • The free running open world shooter, Sunset Overdrive is also expected at the end of this year.
  • Fable Legends is expected in the summer of 2015
  • Crackdown 3 expected to release Q1 of 2016.
  • Apparently the first Titanfall DLC is already developed, a full 44 days before the games release.  Then further DLC is expected 120 from its release.
  • A white Xbox One console is expected to release at the end of this year, I’m assuming very similar to the one that was gifted to Microsoft employees at the launch of the Xbox One last November.

  • A Limited Edition 1TB console will release this November and there was even talk of a disc-less console (say that one fast).
  • To keep in the theme of Xbox One consoles, images of a Titanfall Xbox One console was also posted on NeoGAF.

  • A firmware update is also expected to release for the Xbox One this coming March and will fix a number of issues including party chat, improve social features and some are hoping that it will allow Xbox One users to stream live gameplay via Twitch, as you can currently do with the PS4.

While some of these rumours (maybe all) could turn out to be true, these are all unconfirmed by Microsoft, and so for the time being they should all be taken with a pinch of salt.  But it’s nice to get us all talking, so let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
