Kingdom Hearts 3 has gone a bit off the radar of late. Never fear though as there is new news about… not Kingdom Hearts 3. Instead there is news on a new Smartphone Kingdom Hearts game, although it is not yet confirmed if it will be venturing out of Japan. Kingdom Hearts Unchained X (pronounced “key“) is planned for release later this year on Android and Apple devices.

It will be a free-to-play game with in-app purchases where players create their own Keyblade wielder and explore various Disney inspired worlds. Famitsu confirmed that locations you will be visiting will include Olympus Coliseum, Dwarf Woodlands, Agrabah, and Wonderland, as well as the original world Daybreak Town.

The game will have the same worldview as the previously released in Japan, PC only game Kingdom Hearts Unchained X and will allow users of both games to port their avatar. Let’s all just cross our fingers that we get a Western release shall we? The scans from Famitsu can be seen below, as well as some screenshots for the game.  You can also checkout the official website here.
