A new update is now live for Pokémon Go which brings a host of new features and improvements, such as Lucky Pokémon.  While various improvements and features have already been applied, the Lucky Pokémon should go live any time this week.

The Lucky Pokémon will be acquired via trading with friends, so for example, if you trade a standard Chansey with a friend, upon your friend receiving that Pokémon, there’s a chance it will turn into a Lucky Pokémon upon arrival.  The Lucky Pokémon will have advantages, such as needing less Stardust to power-up, which of course means that they will be less demanding when reaching a higher CP.  Also, the longer a certain Pokémon stays in your storage before it’s traded, it will have a higher chance of becoming a Lucky Pokémon once it has been traded to a friend.

Other improvements include being able to sort your friends list in the order of name, nickname (which you can now give), friendship level and whether or not you or they have gifts yet to open.  Finally, when sending gifts to your friends, you will now receive XP for doing so and there’s even a chance of receiving some Stardust too.
