Ever since Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was revealed to the world at the beginning of this year, it has been compared to that of Titanfall, many saying that Sledgehammer Games have ripped off Respawns Titan, with the Exo-Skeleton suit.  Anyone with knowledge of Advanced Warfare’s development will know that the game has been in-development for more than three years as we approach its release next week.

Despite this length of development, it perhaps has received some unfair criticism as to whom came up with the idea of the Titan or Exo-Skeleton first.  But perhaps this early sketch from 2009 by Sledgehammer Games Michael Condrey of his proposal of the Exo-Skeleton suit might just answer this long running debate.  Also during this time, it was when the legal despite between Activision and Respawn was taking place, with Respawn being accused of “talent poaching”.  During this time as staff moved to and from studios, it’s easy to believe that some ideas may have travelled with certain staff members (who knows?).  Now of course I don’t know for 100% as to whom came up with the whole Exo/Titan idea first, but the sketch seen below from Michael Condrey will either answer some folks questions or add more fuel to the fire.

Here’s a snippet taken from Polygon’s article, for which you can read an in-depth look on Sledgehammer’s desire to reinvent the Call of Duty franchise.

Coming off the tails of MW3 where we racked our brains on how to bring new experiences to the player,” Condrey went on to say. “You talk about, ‘What else could a player do, right?’ When you talk about, ‘He already swims and he climbs and he does all these things. What’s the next set of player movements that’s really going to be exciting?

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will release on November 4th or the 3rd for those that pre order the Day Zero Edition for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
