If you’re looking forward to the next in the Afro Samurai series, you won’t have to wait long as Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma, Volume 1 will be available for digital download on PC and PS4 on Tuesday September 22nd (though will likely be a day later, Wednesday 23rd for European PS players). It will also be available for Xbox One via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program shortly thereafter, at an unannounced date.

A PC and a limited-exclusive console PS4 bundle of all three volumes will be available day one. For the US, it will be $34.99 on PC, with 20% off for PlayStation, or 30% off for PlayStation Plus members. Volumes 1, 2 and 3 will be sold separately, as they become available, for $14.99 on all platforms. Prices in other regions have yet to be confirmed.

Afro Samurai 2 will be delivered in three Volumes, each with its own story arch, characters and combat style. As before RZA, hip-hop artist of Wu-Tang Clan fame, has worked on the game’s original soundtrack made of up and coming indie hip hop artists (like Visual Eyez, featured in the music video trailer above).

Versus Evil’s General Manager, Stever Escalante, has said about the project that “A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into getting Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma to this launch [….] Redacted Studios, has been dreaming of launching this game, the way you are going to play it and experience it over the course of several volumes. [….] We can’t wait for the fans to get to experience the next phase in Afro Samurai action.
