Legendary videogame composer and a key member of developers Team Silent, Akira Yamaoka has once again suggested that we would “love” one day to work on a new Silent Hill title in the hope that the series will once again be revived.  In-fact it’s not the first time that Yamaoka has spoken about his desire to work on Silent Hill again, because back in 2014, he revealed his desire to work on the now ill-fated cancelation of Silent Hills.

However when speaking at Gamescom last week, Akira Yamaoka said that he would “love” a new Silent Hillhappen” and that he’s “not against” the idea of getting the Team Silent band back together.

I’m not against it,” said Yamaoka. “But it’s hard to say because everyone has evolved, and maybe the mindset has changed as well. Also the technology and the games industry as a whole has changed as well. Even if we got back together I’m not even sure we could do something great so it’s very hard to say at the moment.

Naturally Yamaoka has quizzed about the cancellation of Silent Hills by Konami, which would have seen Hideo Kojima and  Guillermo del Toro working together, with The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus as the lead protagonist.

It’s hard to say, everyone was really sad about that, so I kind of followed the mood of everybody else,” said Yamaoka. “Since everyone was saying: it’s a shame, it’s too bad, maybe it is a shame and it is too bad.

Thankfully though we do have Death Stranding which will see the trio bring us a PS4 exclusive, but still, we want Silent Hill!
