Alien: Isolation *UPDATE: DLC Will Be Made Available To All* – Nostromo & Ripley Editions Announced
Update: It has been revealed via the official Alien: Isolation Facebook page that the Crew Expendable and Last Survivor DLC with is tied to the Nostromo and Ripley Editions of the game, will eventually be made available to all. More details are set to be announced shortly in terms of when this DLC will be made available, so of course we’ll keep you posted as and when.
Here’s what the kind folks of the Alien: Isolation team had to say:
However, some of you have been asking if the two pieces of content are only available through pre-order or if we’ll be releasing them at a later date as well.
So, I can confirm today that we do plan to release both Crew Expendable and Last Survivor at a later date and we’ll have more details for you guys on that shortly.
Best, Nee.
Original Story: Sega and The Creative Assembly has announced two special editions for Alien: Isolation which will see cast members such as Sigourney Weaver lending her voice and likeness as you have the opportunity to relive some of the classic moments from Ridley Scott’s 1979 iconic Alien movie. The content will be available to those that pre-order Alien: Isolation at the participating retailers.
Alien: Isolation will release for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on October 7th.
Anyone that pre-orders Alien: Isolation in the UK will be granted a free upgrade to the Nostromo Edition which includes the ‘Crew Expendable’ content. You will be able to select from one of three surviving crew members taking place only moments after the gruesome death of Brett (played by Harry Dean Stanton). You can choose to play either as Ellen Ripley, Dallas or Parker as you explore the Nostromo in attempt to lure the Xenomorph into the ship’s airlock.
Additionally the Ripley Edition (which also comes with Crew Expendable) will come with the ‘Last Survivor’ mission where you will play as Ripley as she tries to escape the Narcissus. Following the deaths of Lambert and Parker, Ellen Ripley must make her way through the Nostromo in order to activate the self-destruct sequence and then retracing her steps back to the Narcissus shuttle in aid to escape.
Best of all, the pre-order DLC will feature the real voices and likenesses from the cast of the original movie. In the bonus DLC you will hear the voices of Sigourney Weaver as Ripley (as previously mentioned), as well as Tony Skerritt (Dallas), Veronica Cartwright (Lambert), Harry Dean Stanton (Brett), Yaphet Kotto (Parker) and Ian Holm as Ash (likeness and sound-alike). With the original cast members lending their voices and likenesses, this will no doubt be the best way to relive Ridley Scott’s 1979 cult hit in the videogame medium.
Here’s what the Creative Lead at The Creative Assembly Alistair Hope had to say on this pre-order DLC announcement:
