Assassin’s Creed Origins 1.2.0 is Live Now and DLC release dates announced

Ubisoft has today released a big ole’ meaty patch update for Assassin’s Creed Origins that not only makes several fixes, but also improvements and new features.  They have also announced the release dates for the forthcoming DLC, included in both the season pass and additional free content.

The first major expansion for AC Origins will release with The Hidden Ones next week on Tuesday January 23rd across all formats.  I’ll be keep information very vague to avoid spoilers, however, I’ll include press release information on The Hidden Ones at the very bottom of this article should you want to know further details.

The Hidden Ones will be set four years after the events of the main campaign and will see Bayek venture into a new region, Sinai, an area occupied by the Roman Empire.  The player level cap will also be increased to 45, allowing you make Bayek’s skills and abilities even more deadly, as well as upgrading all his weapons and gear furthermore.  The Hidden Ones will also include four new Legendary weapons, a new outfit, two new mounts, additional crafting gear levels and a variety of other new weapons.

Perhaps the feature that I’m most excited for is the Discovery Tour which will arrive via a free update for all.  In this educational mode, you’ll be able to explore the lands of ancient Egypt and its Pyramids in free-mode or guided tours curated by historians and Egyptologists to get a unique lesson on Egyptian history.  The Discovery Tour by Assassin’s Creed: Ancient Egypt will be available on Tuesday February 20th.

The final story expansion; The Curse of the Pharaohs will take players to the land of strange, and is something different from the main campaign.  In this expansion, players will travel to another new region of Thebes, where you will battle against ancient, famous pharaohs and beasts as you investigate what could have brought these supernatural beings back to the living world.  This content will increase the level cap further to 55, as well as gifting us with new outfits, gear, and new rare and legendary weapons based upon classic Egyptian mythology.  The Curse of the Pharaohs will release on Tuesday March 6th.

 

Now on to Patch 1.2.0, this is live now for Assassin’s Creed Origins and with it, comes a whole host of changes and improvements with this meaty update.  The patch coming in at 3GB on PS4/Xbox One, 2.6GB on PC via Uplay and 1.2GB via Steam gets ready for the first major expansion for the game (The Hidden Ones), adds new quests as well as further weapons and armour pieces into the loot pool.

As well as the above mentions, new features will be made to the in-game map with an Atlas view which displays the Sinai and the Valley of the Kings regions, you can sell back outfits to Weaver Shops, new items from the Nightmare, First Civilization, Wacky and Almighty Packs will be thrown into the Heka Chest with in-game currency purchases.  Improvements will also be made by being able to toggle the visibility to inventory items via the Gear menu.

There will also be fixes for cut-scene cinematic’s, issues with mission glitches, being able to push opponents into the pit when playing in the Duellist II Arena, reduce the difficulty to Hippodrome races and fix an issue regarding players not being correctly ranked following races, improving tamed animal AI and improvements to the user interface.  The list is truly huge, so you can check out the full patch notes over on the AC Origins forum.

DLC 1 – The Hidden Ones: This story-driven expansion builds upon the growth of the Brotherhood, taking players four years after the events of Assassin’s Creed Origins, as they clash with an occupying Roman force in a new region of the world, the Sinai. This expansion will increase the level cap to 45, allowing players to continue to upgrade and customise their character. Players will have access to four new Legendary weapons, a new outfit, two new mounts and multiple new weapons, as well as two new levels for all crafted gear.
