Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Released

Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition is finally here. Back in 1998 when the game first launched it was held up as one of the best Dungeons & Dragons fantasy games yet, and while my personal favourite D&D based game is Planescape: Torment, it is great to see a classic get remade for a newer generation.

The Enhanced Edition comes with better graphics and gameplay, new characters to join your party, a collection of new quests to enjoy and something called the Black Pits, an arena to test out your tactical skills.

Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition can be purchased for $19.99 over at Beamdog, either installed by a stand-alone installer or using the Beamdog client. I’ve not heard word on a future Steam release but we can hope.
