Members of the DICE development team were in attendance at EA Play to not only show a new multiplayer trailer for Battlefield V, but they also announced that the game will be having its own Battle Royale mode, because of course it will.  Anyone here playing the E3 Battle Royale drinking game?  Well it’s off to an early start already!

EA and DICE didn’t reveal too much in terms of details, but they did state that it will “re-imagine” the Battle Royale formula and that it will incorporate Battlefield elements such as the “core pillars of destruction, team play and vehicles” and that “it will be unlike anything you’ve played before.”  Which let’s be honest, of course they’re going to say something similar in that regard, but whether it will be all that unique compared to what’s already on offer and the many future Battle Royale games that will release, remains to be seen.

DICE promised to reveal more details on the Battle Royale mode later in the year and that we’ll get to see some Battlefield V gameplay during Microsoft’s conference later today.  You can also check out the new multiplayer gameplay trailer below.

Battlefield V will release worldwide for PC, PS4 and Xbox One October 19th or sooner than that depending on which version you pre-order or if you’re a subscriber to EA Access and/or EA Origin/Premier.
