Battlefield 3 Getting a Premium Service?

According to OXMBattlefieldo received this rumour from a reliable source, that suggests there are talks that EA and DICE are planning to bring a premium service to Battlefield 3, a similar service it would seem to that of Call of Duty Elite. This new service has a date of June 4th which is the day before E3, meaning that we could be seeing this announcement made soon. For now this is all the information that we have from the original source:

“Battlefield™ Premium will land you a number of content drops with unique in-game items not available anywhere else. First out is the one-of-a-kind Premium knife and black dog tag, plus a set of soldier camos, weapon camos, dog tags and Assignments that will make sure you stand out and get more personalisation options”

The multiplayer in Battlefield 3 already has reason enough to be played time and time again, so is this potential rumour something that the game actually needs? Do you think it’s trying too hard to emulate Call of Duty’s success? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Close Quarters DLC will be released on all platforms in June.
