Remember the action packed live-action trailer for the revival of Sleeping Dogs (Previously True Crime: Hong Kong) full of stunts, guns, cars, bikes and general martial arts goodness? It certainly peaked the interest of fans who’d thought United Front Games’ open world Hong Kong title had taken its last breath after Activision cancelled the project.

As well as saving the project and giving it a new identity, Square Enix have clearly put their marketing muscle behind the title with the Announcement Trailer which showcased impressive production vales.

Filmed in Vancouver and Hong Kong, and produced by Goldtooth Creative (also responsible for the fantastic Deus Ex:HR CG trailer), get a behind the scenes look at the cameras, stunts and locations below.

Sleeping Dogs catapults players into the role of undercover cop Wei Shen, tasked with taking down one of the world’s most fearsome criminal organisations from the inside… the Hong Kong Triads. As players explore the bustling and crowded Hong Kong island, through its neon-lit side streets and sprawling street markets, an incredible story unfolds of loyalty and betrayal, where Wei begins to question his own motives as he is sucked in deeper than he could ever imagine.

Sleeping Dogs will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in the second half of 2012.
