Bound by Flame was supposed to make its debut during E3. However, things got pretty silent concerning this title, but today we have some exciting news. The first official teaser for Bound by Flame has just been released by Spider Studios. It focuses on how ruthless the enemies are, and how fast the combat is. In fact, players will get to fight many impressive creatures such as shadow dragons, liches,  the undead, and ice creatures during the game. Also, according to the press release,

The combat system of Mars War Logs, the previous RPG made by Spiders Studio, seduced players with its dynamic and tactical approach. Bound by Flame goes even further, taking as a base this successful recipe, but offering a bigger selection of attacks and skills, more fluid and spectacular animations, and the use of Magic. All this contributes to making Bound by Flame’s combat very impressive, but also resolutely tactical, as players face a huge, original bestiary filled with otherworldly creatures. This is being shown in today’s video, in the thunderous clash of three warriors’ twirling blades facing an outnumbering enemy and a seriously big surprise.

Personally, I am really stoked after seeing this trailer. I really hope that the game’s main combat will be as fast as it is shown in the trailer. I played Mars: War Logs, but thought that the combat could use a lot of polish. Hopefully the bigger budget will mean better gameplay mechanics.

For those that are not aware, the games lore follows your custom made character, a mercenary who either, fights the possession of a flame demon or gives in to its temptations to become someone really powerful. According to the players decisions and skill-tree upgrades in-game, changes will be seen in the appearance of the character and it will affect the outcome of the story and quests, promoting replayability for the game. Furthermore, the game will feature an expansive world that is set in a dark fantasy universe filled with many interesting quests to partake on, either alone or with companions, and for which to get ready, you can customise your characters apparel and weapons through the games unique crafting system.

The game is being developed by Spider Studios, who had previously worked on the ambitious, Mars: War Logs. Which in my opinion, was an ambitious game that suffered from a low budget. However, this time around, Spider Studios has a much bigger budget and more resources to finally help bring their ambitions into action.

The game is bound for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 at the end of 2013. Lastly, be sure to check out the trailer below and stay tuned for updates regarding this interesting title!
