A story trailer was released recently for the upcoming first person mystery, Draugen.

Self-described as ‘Fjord Noir’, the game is set in a 1920’s Norway and sees you, an American traveller called Edward Harden and his ward Lissie, search for his missing sister.

The game boasts of this ward being something of an independent companion, and through dynamic dialogue and a scenic setting that changes depending on, not just the weather but also Edward’s mental state, the game will offer something gripping and unique.

I must say, at the very least, judging from the trailer and screenshots, that Draugen is a beautiful looking game. Exploring the coastal and mountainous settings will hopefully be encapsulating in its own right, but underneath this also lies a dark mystery.

Hopefully the gameplay will offer something interesting as well and this won’t lean too much into overblown walking simulator territory. Either way, there isn’t long left until we find out.

The game is releasing on PC in May and later on PS4 and Xbox One.
